Sunday 6th October 2013 saw another of the Gaudy Lunches organised by Brian Taylor (1960) and held in The Cloisters at the School with OPs attending from all parts of England, Switzerland and the USA. As in the past the occasion was a great success and appreciated by all who attended; it started with pre-lunch drinks accompanied for many by much “catch-up” chat and then some forty OPs and their guests sat down to a “traditional School Lunch” (including “seconds” – sadly no longer available as part of 2013 lunches!) although unlike the 2013 school lunch this one was fortified with wine and coffee.
After lunch the Headmaster, Chris Cleugh spoke to the group, mentioning amongst other School news the next stage of development on the School site, the initial design plans of which were available for all to view. Marek Nalewajko, Marketing Director of St Benedict’s School followed this up with one of his extensive and comprehensive tours of the present School facilities – a two hour stroll around the buildings being appreciated by all especially by those who had last trodden the corridors over fifty years ago!
